(if you are looking at this right after i post it it might not exactly work so forgive me until i figure it out)
Here is my first attempt at a comic. Its called LJST-01 and it tells the tale of a freshman LJST student at one of Americas top liberal arts colleges. (Are there any others that offer LJST as a major?) His name is blue. His oft eccentric roomate is named Red. (When i showed this to a friend of mine he was like “oh you mean like red vs blue?” Which apparently is a popular webcomic which i don’t read/forgot existed. So maybe i’ll change their names/colors but i already did this one and don’t want to do it all over again. Also red and blue are shorter than purple and yellow or chartreuse and Amethyst.)

Notes-
1.Im at home with limited resources so this first one was done using paint (and i stole that toilet from google images) but maybe i’ll come up with a more advanced style/system as/if this comic keeps going.
2. I can’t draw so i’ll just clarify some things in text.
- Those are cell phones.
- he is pooping and there is a little dinosaur raaring at him.

Haha. I have a lot of questions about this thing but its a solid first effort.
Also, red vs. blue is a video series with Halo characters, I believe.

I recommend browsing the MSWord clipart and using the images and sprites there for your characters and props.

Yeah, that’s a good point. For example, Thinkin’ Lincoln(http://www.thinkin-lincoln.com/index.php?strip_id=687) and Dinosaur comics(http://www.qwantz.com/) both use stock clip art, so they might be the way to go if you are concerned with your artistic ability. There is also one that uses caution sign humans, but I cant remember the name of it.
Also, equal panel sizes and Photoshop ftw.

yeah i thought about just using clipart but i also kind of wanted to create my own look. we shall see. maybe until i get the hang of things i will chalk up the artistic failures as a “signature style”. i’ll play around with some different options
