I had a strange fugue dream last night. I was laying in a pile of dirt and twigs and stuff, and then suddenly I woke up and I was in my bed at home, only my whole bed was actually full of dirt and twigs. I sprang out of bed, severely weirded out, and then my dad came in and I told him about how I’d just been dreaming of laying in dirt and twigs, and then woke up and my bed was suchly garnished. Shortly thereafter I woke up again, and told someone about how I’d just had a dream within a dream… and this continued for several layers of dreams. It was terrifying. I woke up severely unsettled (and late for class).

Hey, do you like Of Montreal? Do you want to hear them playing a bunch of other people’s songs? Well, you’re in luck!  (Most of them are low-quality live stuff and thus only good for a chuckle, except for their cover of The Shins’s “Know Your Onion,” which is fantastical).

For a long time last year this song had me pretty convinced i was turning into a werewolf. I still kind of think I am. The video is a little bit weird, but, the song is amazing. Love it. The text in today’s picture is a lyric from the song, and Howl is capitalized because that happens to be my favorite poem, which hasn’t appeared yet in this blog but likely will soon, in a big way.

I am really happy it is the weekend. In fact, I’m really happy that it’s this particular weekend.

Props to Ben Babbott for sending me this amazing music video.

When I think about different forms of communication, text messages and e-mail are pretty distinct. Texts are for things like, “haha this just happened” or “hey pick me up a 40 on the way home?” whereas e-mails are for professors, file attachments, and big long thought processes.

But I just texted my friend and then realized he has an iPhone, and sending an e-mail would have been almost the exact same thing. The fact that these two lines of communication have now been blurred together for some people, but not others, is intensely confusing to me.

Moral of the story: I wants me an iPhone.

My schedule is finally starting to come together, and I got a lot done on my thesis last night, so, this is pretty much my schedule for the next month or two.

I am really exhausted today, and I need to figure out a way to have lunch despite class from 11:30-4.

Last night my friend sent me this and I laughed. I want a cat.

Monday Monday. So, as most people have probably heard by now, David Foster Wallace died this past Friday. He was an Amherst alum and a really amazing writer. Infinite Jest is one of the most unique novels I’ve ever read, and I’m pretty bummed about this whole thing.

Today’s picture is about fear, fear of heights and fear of talking to people.

Sometimes people ask my why I wish it were still the 80s.

(Note: this song’s awesomeness increases linearly with both BAC and number of people watching/singing with you).
