George Will never supported McCain during the primaries and he was reluctant to embrace him as the party’s nominee. He still isn’t doing McCain any favors, check this out:

Ouch, indeed. But Will’s are legitimate concerns about McCain and his ideas, are they not? I think Will was being kind in enumerating only ten qualms; there are certainly many more that he did not mention. Alas, luckily for Mr. McModerate, he really doesn’t have to answer to any of them–and he won’t–because his crown is already won. The GOP caved for the least conservative candidate, and so the party’s fate has been sealed. I just don’t see how the conservative “movement” can withstand a McCain Era without undergoing the fracturing that is already at work.

They are certainly legitimate questions. I thought the question on judges was the most troubling, I had no idea McCain had said that. He wants to nominate judges who will “enforce” laws? What Constitution is he reading from?

However much it pains me to intrude on this intramural Republican political battle, which gives me significant hope for the victory of Senator Obama (and his attendant chorus of angels) this November, I’m interested to see what Sam has to say about this clip.

Perhaps Hamas spoke too soon when they declared Obama their favorite candidate.

Like the campaign’s statement said, I assume there would have been conditions for these talks, maybe included in the rest of the conversation. If not McCain either forgot to add them or he was just as wrong as Obama.
I think we need to use the prospect of direct negotiations as an incentive with Iran and Hamas, refusing to negotiate categorically is just as useless as negotiating without any preconditions.
Bush’s speech was wildly unfair, he should be ashamed of himself for using the office of the presidency, and the occassion of an address to the Knesset, to smear Sen. Obama.
