Spurred on by scathing criticism from the honorable Aaron Nathan (check out his blog–it’s like Slate without all the cool images!), I’ve decided to finally become an active AmhPubber. This is the requisite first post, in which I make claims about what might come later and then hopefully follow up with meaningful posts sometime during finals week. My major preoccupations/fascinations are music, movies, sports (mainly European football, sorry) and various other aspects of popular (or often not so popular) culture. I’d really like to applaud Emily Moin so far for her music blog, although I was unfortunately reminded today by her guest writer Jacob Thomas just how easy it is to spend hours on Hype Machine rather than finishing a Religion paper. And to cap this off, I would like to say that I’ve just entered my annual Pavement mood, in which I get swept away by Stephen Malkmus’ gold soundz as the weather gets warm and summer truly arrives. This will make for a much more melodic finals week. Life is good.
How are things?
