Somewhere men are laughing, and somewhere children shout

You probably know how this one ends…

Two of my three least favorite teams are in the Champions League final (and I don’t think the Dallas Cowboys are eligible), we’re about to lose Flamini to some team in Italy, William Gallas is our club captain, we’ve frittered away the Prem, and the entire USMNT (Fulham) is probably about to go down. On the plus side, at least Real Madrid won’t win La Liga (checks table)…oh, right. If there is a God, He’s too busy helping the Hawks against the Celtics to worry about soccer. Hopefully I’ll wake up tomorrow and realize that this was just a Dr. Pepper-fueled bad dream.

In case it’s not, there is a bit of a silver lining: no matter who wins the Champions League, either ManU or Chelski will lose it, England’s still not in the Euros this summer, and we probably will lose Hleb over the summer.

But there is no joy in Mudville–Arsenal has struck out.
