    Wow. I guess the only difference is that pretty soon, we’ll be the grownups. Let’s hope we can do better.

    I worked for the class of 1958, of which David Suzuki is a member, last reunion. He’s a sort of celebrity environmentalist in Canada; he even has a TV show. When you talk to him about the issues he’s worked his entire life fighting for, he looks passionate but tired. He’s spent his career trying to educate people about earth we inhabit and why it’s important, and while he’s popular in Canada, the environment is a global issue. His talent and ambition haven’t done nearly what they could. It makes me wonder if the world can even understand the beauty we’re destroying.

    he’s a celebrity environmentalist because he’s written tons of books and he’s been on the scene for decades.
